Aluminized Steel becomes much more popular in anti-corrosive material domain

Along with the requirement of social industrial development and product performance improvement, aluminized steel appears more frequently than before. And by knowing and understanding this material deeper, its market demand becomes much more as well.

Aluminized steel (AS) is widely used to replace galvanized steel (GI) as it has similar mechanical property, dimensional accuracy and shape control with GI. Besides, its corrosion resistance is 5-15 times than that of GI, and the coating mass can be less because the density of AS is lower than that of GI.

Characteristics which make AS much better than GI is that the former one has extraordinary high-temperature resistance, under 550 degrees its bright surface doesn’t change while the latter one’s surface will be powdered under 300 degrees. The heat reflection of AS is also excellent, 80% below 500 degrees and 95% under infrared ray. That’s why it can be a great material of making heat-insulated shield.

What has to be mentioned is in China, currently there is only T1 (aluminum-silicon coated) and no T2 (pure aluminum coated). The main application includes automobile exhaust pipe, car muffler, bakeware, heat exchanger and other thermal insulation material domestically and internationally.
