VCM Steel Sheet & Vinyl Coated Metal

PVC, PET and acrylic film laminated steel in decorative textures and solid colors, engineered for appliance panels, doors, furniture and elevator interiors.

Scratch Resistant Fingerprint Proof Decorative Finish Custom Patterns

Overview

MESCO supplies VCM steel sheet (vinyl coated metal) and film laminated steel coil for manufacturers of home appliances, interior doors, kitchen cabinets, elevator panels and office furniture. VCM steel is a premium coated product that combines the strength and formability of cold rolled or galvanized steel with a decorative, durable polymer film, delivering a ready-to-assemble surface that needs no painting, plating or post-finishing.

Our VCM line is produced on a dedicated film lamination line with precise tension and temperature control, ensuring wrinkle-free bonding, uniform color and consistent texture across every coil. With 19 years of steel processing experience and supply to 9 Fortune 500 customers in more than 60 countries, MESCO offers a complete solution from substrate selection and film sourcing to slitting, sheeting and protective film packaging.

What Is VCM Steel?

VCM stands for Vinyl Coated Metal. A roll of base steel — typically cold rolled steel (SPCC), galvanized steel (GI) or galvalume (GL) — is laminated with a polymer film such as PVC, PET, PEN or acrylic on one or both faces. The film is bonded to the substrate under heat and pressure, creating a permanent, seamless surface that resists scratching, corrosion, chemicals and fingerprints while offering unlimited decorative options: wood grain, marble, brushed metal, solid colors, embossed textures and custom prints.

Unlike liquid painting, film lamination introduces no VOC emissions and produces a uniform film thickness across the whole sheet, including edges and corners. This makes VCM steel a preferred material for visible surfaces in consumer products where appearance and durability both matter.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Decorated surface, zero post-processing: wood grain, marble, brushed and solid finishes arrive ready to assemble, eliminating painting lines.
  • Excellent scratch and fingerprint resistance: the polymer film protects the visible face during handling, fabrication and daily use.
  • Chemical and moisture resistant: the film resists cleaners, detergents, oils and humidity in kitchens, bathrooms and laboratories.
  • Environmentally friendly: film lamination emits no VOC and generates less waste than solvent-based painting.
  • Excellent formability: engineered films follow deep drawing, bending and embossing without cracking or delaminating.
  • Two-sided protection: an optional back film prevents corrosion and keeps the reverse face clean during forming.

We laminate from our own substrate inventory, so lead times are short and batch color is consistent. Send us a sample, a Pantone reference or a texture pattern, and our team will match it on a production coil before mass supply.

Applications

  • Refrigerator, washing machine and air conditioner outer panels
  • Microwave oven and kitchen appliance housings
  • Interior doors, door frames and elevator car interiors
  • Kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and office furniture panels
  • Air-conditioning ducts, control cabinets and display stands

Quality Control

Incoming substrate coils are tested for thickness, surface cleanliness and zinc coating weight before lamination. During lamination we continuously monitor film tension, bonding temperature and adhesive coverage, and every coil is checked for adhesion, color consistency, pinholes and edge defects. Finished coils carry batch test reports including adhesion (cross-cut), boiling water resistance, impact resistance and color difference (ΔE) values, and third-party inspection such as SGS can be arranged.

Why Choose MESCO?

  • In-house lamination line with stable film sourcing from qualified suppliers
  • Full control of substrate quality, from coil to finished VCM sheet
  • 19 years of steel expertise, 9 Fortune 500 customers, 60+ export countries
  • Short lead times for standard textures and colors
  • Technical support for stamping, bending and assembly processes

FAQ

What is the difference between VCM and PCM steel?

VCM steel is laminated with a polymer film after coating and offers richer textures and better scratch resistance. PCM (pre-coated metal) is painted on a coil line. VCM is preferred for visible, high-touch surfaces.

Can you match a specific wood grain or color?

Yes. Send a sample or a pattern reference, and we will match it on a trial coil before mass production.

Is VCM steel suitable for deep drawing?

Yes. We select film and substrate combinations that follow deep drawing and bending without cracking or delamination.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Trial orders starting from one coil are welcome. Mass production is quoted by substrate, film type and quantity.

Do you supply cut sheets or blanks?

Yes. We offer full coils, cut-to-length sheets and custom blanked pieces according to your drawing.
