Overview
MESCO supplies stainless steel wire mesh and woven screen for filtration, sieving, separation and protection across food, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and construction industries. Manufactured from certified 201, 304, 304L, 316 and 316L wire, our mesh is woven on precision looms to deliver consistent aperture, uniform openings and clean, burr-free intersections.
Whether you need a fine 316L filter mesh for liquid filtration, a heavy crimped screen for stone separation, or a decorative architectural weave, we provide rolls, sheets and cut-to-size panels with a short lead time and factory-direct pricing.
What Is Stainless Steel Wire Mesh?
Stainless steel wire mesh is a woven grid of metal wires that keeps particles of a controlled size from passing through. The two key parameters are mesh count (number of openings per inch) and wire diameter, which together determine the aperture and open area. Because stainless steel resists corrosion, heat and chemicals, SS mesh outlasts carbon steel and polymer screens in demanding environments.
Weave Types We Supply
| Weave | Feature | Typical Use |
| Plain weave | Simple over-under pattern, high open area | Sieving, general filtration, guarding |
| Twill weave | Wires cross two-over-two, finer apertures | Fine powder sieving, liquid filtration |
| Crimped weave | Pre-crimped wires lock in place | Stone screening, mining, heavy-duty sizing |
| Dutch weave | Tight, wedge-shaped openings | Precision filtration, polymer processing |
Key Features & Benefits
- Wide aperture range: from 0.025 mm fine filter mesh up to 12.7 mm heavy screens.
- Corrosion resistant: 304 and 316L grades resist rust, acids and chlorides.
- Consistent openings: precision weaving guarantees uniform aperture for accurate sizing.
- Heat tolerant: stainless mesh maintains strength at elevated processing temperatures.
- Cut-to-size service: rolls, sheets or fabricated panels with edges trimmed and deburred.
- Food safe: suitable for direct food contact and pharmaceutical filtration.

FAQ
What is the difference between plain and twill weave?
Plain weave has a simple over-under pattern and is best for general sieving; twill weave uses a two-over-two pattern that allows finer apertures with stronger structure for filtration.
Which grade should I choose, 304 or 316?
304 suits most industrial and food applications. Choose 316/316L when chloride, salt water or strong chemical exposure is expected.
Can you supply cut-to-size panels?
Yes. We supply rolls, sheets and cut panels with trimmed edges, welded frames or folded borders on request.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Sample rolls and prototype panels are available for trial; mass production quantities are quoted by aperture, width and grade.
Do you provide mesh count certificates?
Yes. Each batch can be shipped with a mesh count and aperture verification report, and third-party inspection is available.
