Overview

MESCO supplies wear-resistant steel plate for mining, earthmoving, recycling, concrete and heavy engineering applications. NM400 and NM500 plates deliver hardness from 360 to 530 HB, extending the service life of wear liners, buckets, chutes, hoppers and crusher components by several times compared with ordinary structural steel.

We supply equivalent grades such as HARDOX 400/450 and provide cutting, bending, drilling and welding preparation so your parts arrive production-ready.

What Is Wear-Resistant Steel?

Wear-resistant steel is a quenched and tempered low-alloy plate engineered for hardness and abrasion resistance. Its high surface hardness resists scratching and gouging from rocks, ores and debris, while the steel keeps enough toughness to survive impact without cracking. Using wear plate where abrasion is high dramatically reduces downtime and replacement cost.

What is the difference between NM400 and NM500?

NM500 is harder (480-530 HB vs 400-440 HB) and lasts longer under severe abrasion, while NM400 offers a better balance of hardness and impact toughness.
