Structural Steel Sections: H Beam, I Beam, Angle & Channel
Hot rolled structural sections in Q235B, Q355B, SS400 and S355JR - from H beams up to 900x300 mm to angles, channels and flat bars, cut and processed to your drawings.
Overview
MESCO supplies hot rolled structural steel sections for construction, engineering and machinery projects worldwide. Our range covers H beams, I beams, equal and unequal angles, channels and flat bars, rolled to Chinese, Japanese, European and American standards and delivered with mill test certificates.
Beyond supplying mill-standard lengths, we cut, drill, weld and galvanize sections to fabrication-ready dimensions so your shop can skip the preparatory work. With 19 years of steel supply experience, exports to more than 60 countries and 9 Fortune 500 customers, MESCO combines mill-direct pricing with the documentation discipline that structural projects demand.
What Are Structural Steel Sections?
Structural sections are hot rolled steel profiles with an efficient cross-section - the flanges and web place material where bending and shear demand it, which is why beams, columns and bracing are built from them rather than flat plate. H beams have wide, equal flanges and are the modern default for columns and long-span beams. I beams (IPE/UB) have narrower sloped flanges. Angles and channels serve bracing, purlins, edge trim and secondary framing.
Section Range
| Product | Size Range | Standards | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| H beam | 100x100 - 900x300 mm | GB/T 11263, JIS G3192, EN 10034 | Columns, primary beams |
| I beam | 10# - 63# / IPE100-600 | GB/T 706, EN 10024 | Beams, crane rails support |
| Equal angle | 20x20 - 200x200 mm | GB/T 706, ASTM A36 | Bracing, towers, frames |
| Unequal angle | 25x16 - 200x125 mm | GB/T 706, EN 10056 | Asymmetric framing |
| Channel | 5# - 40# / UPN | GB/T 706, EN 10279 | Purlins, vehicle frames |
| Flat bar | 3-60 mm x 10-200 mm | GB/T 702 | Base plates, straps, tabs |
Key Features & Benefits
- Full grade coverage: Q235B and Q355B for domestic specs, SS400, S275JR, S355JR and A36 for export projects.
- Multistandard sizing: GB, JIS, EN and ASTM dimensions from one supplier - no split sourcing.
- Mill certificates: chemical composition and mechanical properties documented for every heat.
- Fabrication-ready delivery: cutting to length, drilling, welding and hot-dip galvanizing available.
- Project packing: sections bundled and tagged per assembly or per truck for site efficiency.
- Volume flexibility: trial lots for prototypes and full project tonnages for main structures.

Send your section list or fabrication drawings. We confirm grade, standard and dimension availability, quote cut-to-length or processed pieces, and can arrange pre-shipment inspection before containers leave the works.
Applications
- Steel building frames: columns, rafters and secondary members
- Bridge girders and pedestrian structures
- Transmission towers and telecommunication masts
- Machinery frames, equipment bases and conveyor gantries
- Shipbuilding and port structure components
Quality Control
Sections are supplied with mill test certificates covering chemistry, yield, tensile and impact values. On receipt we verify dimensions, weight per meter, straightness and end squareness against the ordered standard. Processed orders add inspection of cut length, hole position and galvanized coating thickness, and third-party inspection by SGS, BV or the client's engineer can be arranged at the works before shipment.

FAQ
What is the difference between H beam and I beam?
H beams have wider, flat flanges with uniform thickness, giving better bending capacity about both axes - the modern choice for columns and primary beams. I beams have sloped, narrower flanges and suit lighter secondary framing.
Can you supply to EN or ASTM sizes?
Yes. We supply IPE/HEA/UPN/UPA European sizes and ASTM W shapes alongside GB and JIS sections.
Do you provide mill test certificates?
Yes, every shipment includes mill TCs with chemistry and mechanical properties. Third-party inspection can also be arranged.
Can sections be cut and drilled to drawings?
Yes. Send your fabrication drawings for cut-to-length, drilled and welded pieces delivered ready for assembly.
How are sections packed for export?
Sections are bundled with steel strapping, tagged by size and length, and loaded per container plan with packing lists for each bundle.
